Shannon K. Richter,
MCJ Executive Director Shannon Richter received her Bachelor in Science degree in 1994 from Colorado State
University - Pueblo in clinical psychology. In 1998, she obtained her Masters degree in criminal justice from
the University of Colorado at Denver. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the
Pueblo Optimist Club and is a past Board Member for Spanish Peaks Mental Health Center. She is a volunteer with A.V.C.R.T.
(Arkansas Valley Crisis Response Team) debriefing first responders such as law enforcement officers, fire fighters and
emergency medical personnel. October 2007, Shannon received the national Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute's (CCAI) 'Angels In Adoption' award from Colorado Congressman John Salazar for her years of
work advocating for foster families, child welfare issues and innovative victim support services. She
is the founder and Executive Director at JOURNEYS, Inc., Child Placement Services which began in February 2004.

Tara Crowe, BS Agency Case Manager
Tara has been with JOURNEYS, Inc. since September
of 2008. She graduated from Colorado State University-Pueblo in December of 2004 with a Bachelors degree in
Sociology and Mass Communications. Since then, Tara has been fortunate enough to earn some valuable experience in marketing,
sales, event planning, public relations, coordination and advertising. She was the Marketing Manager at the Pueblo Convention
Center and the Communications Coordinator at the Greater Pueblo Chamber of Commerce. Tara also serves on the Pueblo
Dream Weavers Board of Directors. Tara decided to change
careers and become an advocate for foster children with JOURNEYS, Inc., Child Placement Services. Tara is excited
to be a part of the children's lives and to help make their journey a successful one!
